Bullguard Review – Is it Worth the Price?
Bullguard is a powerful security suite that covers all needs. It’s not as robust as the other options but it’s a great option for users looking to get a more from their antivirus software. It also runs well on resources, and avoids heavy system loads and offering several alternatives to help reduce the burden whenever needed.
The program opens with an open-ended hub that has tiles that show the layout of its modules. They include firewalls, antivirus and PC tune-ups, games boosters, and home network scanners. Anyone who wants to check their system for weaknesses will be pleased with the “Vulnerabilities” section, which will alert them of things such as missing Windows updates autostart services, open ports. The “Game Booster” is a function that optimizes your system on a regular basis when you play, is a great feature for gamers.
In our tests, we found that the bullguard antivirus was very effective at preventing malware infection and was also relatively light on system resources in comparison to the other products, especially when it came to CPU usage. We did notice, however, that the background process of the antivirus took up a lot of RAM, especially on machines with limited memory. Additionally, elements of the hub app appeared blurred on high-resolution displays.
Bullguard’s Premium Protection subscription comes with the mobile component, which provides parental controls, antitheft, and basic backup support for your tablet or smartphone. The app is a bit basic and does not include some vital features, like webcam security or file shredders. Additionally, support for phones is only available via live chat or email.
